GDC
GDC is the Game Developer Conference. It is held once a year in San Francisco. It started in 1987 and has grown from 20 people to 12,500 people. The conference features speakers on different aspects of game development, how recent games were created, and awards. The most interesting aspect I saw was a few speeches on Indie Games. There was one on how to take your game developing from a hobby to a business. They also give out awards to games bases on peer to peer voting. Overall the conference looks to be a way for every type of game developer to see what is coming next and how to improve their business and skills.
